April Guild Meeting – Member Led Workshops

Saturday, April 7th
Member-led workshops: Several of our members will be leading mini-workshops in
a variety of techniques. Come and learn something new!

– Phyllis Haecker will, by popular demand, show how to fold boxes out of paper. All
materials provided.
– Kenna Hickman will bring many different fibers, carders, combs, blending board,
spinning wheels, and drop spindle to show you how to be a spinner. All materials
provided.
– Debbie Carlen will show how to crochet a nylon kitchen scrubby. These were very
popular at the WoW Sale. Yarn will be available but please bring your own crochet
hook #G, H or I.     BEGINNERS WELCOME!
– Jeanette Mustacich will guide you how to make a Granny Square. Knowledge of
basic stitches needed. There will be yarn and hooks for you who want to try. If you
wish to make a project of your own, please bring worsted yarn in at least two colors
and appropriate size hook. Please bring your own scissors.
– Amy Rossi For those who always have been curious about knitting, Amy will
demonstrate how to cast on, knit and purl. Yarn is provided. Please bring knitting
needles size 8.
– Annie Guillemette is looking forward to demonstrate basic embroidery stitches. A
kit will be available. Please bring your own small scissors.
– Bev Ryan answers the question, what is the best way to spin those fine downy
fibers? An Indian takli, originally used to spin cotton. I have used it to spin
cashmere, camel down, qiviut (musk ox), buffalo, yak, and cotton. I will have some
spun examples, and some yak down to demo.
