March

In March we will learn about the Red Dress project through a virtual program by artist Kirstie Macleod. Learn more about this artist and her project: https://reddressembroidery.com/

We have organized a Monday, March 17th field trip down to LA to visit the conservation lab at LACMA. Look for an email in late February or early March with more details!

April

In April we will hear from members (Agnes and Andrew) who each received scholarships for workshops they took. This is their opportunity to teach us about what they learned.

June

In June we will have artist Lucy Arai here to present her beautiful sashiko embroidery work, inspired by her own Japanese heritage and lifelong study. Lucy will present to the entire guild and will also conduct an intensive workshop throughout the weekend. Stay tuned for information on the workshop.

July

In July we have invited Kristal Hale, the new textile conservator at LACMA, to present to the guild.

August

Our annual members-only Dye Day!

January and February

We begin the year by looking inward, at work we may have neglected but still see potential in if we can only devote a little bit of time and fresh energy. It is time to reflect and focus on the possibilities. And to help us each see with fresh eyes; we bring the work in to share with other members.

Deadlines are always helpful so this is a two-part program where we will bring the work back in February to show any progress made.

In the next few months, we hope to have an evening event downtown at the new knit shop as well as its neighbor, Domicile. Both owners are guild members.
