Barbara Tullo Booth

Pedaling Paper & Art

Website || Instagram || Facebook

Barbara Tullo Booth of “Pedaling Paper” prides herself in creating handmade paper for unique art, cards, handmade books, bowls and gifts. Working with mostly found or recycled materials and employing small batch production techniques, each item is handcrafted with care and has a genesis in her love of nature, repurposing and recycling.

Barbara works with shredded paper, cotton rag, flowers, seeds, herbs, weeds, tree bark, kelp, vintage patterns and maps and whatever else she can get her hands on. Often, she will embellish the handmade paper cards with original block prints, applique, or ink and colored pencil illustrations. Handmade paper bowls become “canvases” for watercolor botanical images. Custom orders available.

Online Store

Since launching my online yarn shop inspireamind.com in 2020, it’s grown into an exciting business. Along the way, I opened a tiny showroom—right inside my home—for local visitors and fellow yarn lovers. Because I am not zoned for physical retail (only licensed for online business), visits are by appointment only. Just send a text to 805-453-8101 or email sus@inspireamind.com to set up a time. I’d love to welcome you!

At Inspire a Mind, I’ve put together a collection of yarns I truly love—natural, sustainable, and always a joy to work with. I carry beautiful lines from around the world, like CaMaRose, Gepard Garn, Hjertegarn, and Holst Garn from Denmark; Shetland Wool,  Lana Gatto from Italy; and U.S. favorites like Quince & Co. and Cascade Yarns. I’m especially mindful about animal welfare and fiber quality—mulesing-free wool is a must, and many of the yarns are certified organic. I test everything myself to make sure it’s soft, special, and easy to knit or crochet with—and great quality.

I also sell my own hand-dyed yarns that I dye in small batches here in  Santa Barbara. Suri alpacas is my personal favorite—it’s incredibly soft and such a dream to work with!
