September already, will Fall weather follow?

September Guild Meeting:  First Saturday, September 5!This Month:Artist Sommer Roman lives and works in Santa Barbara. She received herMFA in 2014 from UC Santa Barbara, and subsequently became theirinaugural artist-in-residence for the following year. Her art practice iscomprised of both 2D and 3D work which can be categorized as playfulsurrealistic abstraction. Sommer will discuss her habit of collecting domesticdiscards (clothing, pillows, bed sheets, discarded toys, windows), her nontraditionalapproach to working with fiber, her interest in play, her historicaland contemporary influences, and her past and recent projects
