Anyone want to make a shirt? This fall, sewing classes at SBCC return to the Wake Center, where the sewing room has been renovated with all new equipment. The curriculum has changed, too. There are still individualized sewing classes – now called Sewing Studio – but there are also real content courses where students will learn to, for instance, make a collared, button-up shirt from start to finish, fit it properly, and design. Beginner-appropriate classes are also offered. More classes have been added, daytime and evenings, with simpler registration.
Our Dye Day coordinator, Emily Adams, who teaches on Monday and Tuesday evening, reports that registration begins July 7.
