This 2-hour tutorial is designed to demonstrate techniques that will make your rayon chenille weaving a happy achievement. I will show a Powerpoint presentation with lots of tips about what makes rayon chenille such a unique fiber and how to successfully work with it. I'll demonstrate setting up the loom for this technique, weaving, good warp tensioning, and chat about what will make your chenille weaving the fabulous textile you’d like it to be. Of course, I'll welcome questions and comments along the way and chat about the supplies I like to use.
There will be tips for weaving with either a rigid heddle or multi harness loom, although I will assume you already have basic weaving experience. The handout will include a pattern for a chenille scarf. You will not weave along during the class, but see what techniques have made my rayon chenille weaving be successful. Then you can watch the recording to set up and weave your own wonderful scarf!
