Layering: Annual Member Exhibit
Featuring works by 50+ member artists, this year’s exhibition celebrates the richness and innovation of fiber arts through the theme Layering. Guild members interpret the concept through material, process, meaning, and technique—revealing how layers can inform both structure and storytelling.
Layering Exhibit Member Talk by Becca Licha
Join us in the gallery for a presentation by artist Becca Licha. Known originally for her ceramic work, Becca has taken a deep dive into denim upcycling over the past two years. She will share her creative process, works in progress, and offer inspiration of things you can do with retired jeans.
Basketry Workshop
Come create a simple bookmark or bracelet made with natural material and basic basketry techniques.
February Guild Meeting: Learn about Papermaking with Barbara Booth and Georganne Alex
The Japanese papermaking and bookbinding Intensive was designed to provide the unique opportunity to learn four distinct Japanese crafts: Nagashizuki hand papermaking, natural dyeing and cover decoration, hand bookbinding, and portfolio box-making.
March Guild Meeting: Triumphs & Challenges with Jean Morrison Phillips
We will once again rely on input from our community of fiber enthusiasts and learn from one another together find new ways forward. Collectively we will celebrate our accomplishments and also sort through solutions to problems that have presented themselves in our work.
Fiber Jewelry Workshop
In this fun workshop we will be using needle and thread to make simple beads from different fabrics.
Layering: Gallery Opening
Join us for our opening reception at Art and Soul Gallery (1323 State Street, Santa Barbara) on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5 pm to 8 pm, with delicious bites provided by Opal Restaurant and a selection of fine wines offered by Lavender Oak Winery.
